How to use Eurax
The ideal way to use Eurax is to follow the instructions of your doctor. An alternative way is to check the medicine label for dosage instructions.
Since it is a topical application it has certain ways of application which must be strictly followed.
There different ways for scabies and for itching.
Scabies needs application on the entire body from the chin with an assurance that the medicine is in contact with each fold of the body such as your armpits, behind the knee joint and in between your fingers.
Reapplication strictly recommended in 24 hours after the first application.
Bathing is strictly prohibited in between the first application and the second but clothing and bed linen should be changed to provide aseptic conditions for application.
Bed linen should be dry-cleaned to prevent spread of infection. Bathing is allowed after the second application that is after 48 hours and not immediately.
For itching application on affected areas and rub until dry.
Hands should be washed thoroughly after the application
you must not stop taking Eurax without consulting your doctor even if you attain relief after a short while post starting treatment.
Drug Class and Mechanism
Eurax is a antipruritic by nature but the mechanism on the affected area is still unknown. The prescription of this drug is strictly result oriented hence is safe to use.
It is important that you maintain a strict schedule for taking Eurax to ensure that you do not miss any doses. But if you do, then you may take it as soon as you remember provided that you space out the next dosage accordingly.
On the other hand, if it is almost time for the next dose, then omit this dose and continue with your normal dosage schedule.
Never consume two doses to compensate for a missed dosage.
Store Eurax between 59 to 77 degrees F (15 and 25 Degrees). Ensure that you protect it from direct exposure to heat/moisture/light and from the reach of children and pets.
Avoid storing Eurax in the bathroom.
Consult your doctor before using Eurax if you have conditions like inflamed, raw, or weeping skin.
Do not use Eurax if you are allergic to any of the ingredients in it (read medicine label if unsure).
If you are pregnant or have plans for a pregnancy, then consult your doctor before using Eurax as Eurax may harm your fetus.
If you are breast feeding then please maintain caution as it is unknown whether Eurax is passed into the breast milk. So please consult your doctor prior to using it.
Eurax can interact with certain medicines. So, you must inform your doctor if you are taking
Eurax is extremely harmful if in contact with eyes, hence avoid. If in contact rinse with cool water immediately.
Swallowing Eurax can be hazardous to life hence should be prevented. If swallowed contact the poison control centre as soon as possible.
